Cats can be allergic to flea medication

A few years ago, while at my summer place in Delaware, I noticed that both of my cats were scratching more than usual. Since they always go out to the screened in porch, I suspected that it may have been  fleas. I took them to the vet who prescribed flea medication that came in the form of drops. I applied the drops to both cats. The scratching stopped but quite awhile later, I noticed a bald spot on my cat Mollie’s neck. It was where the drops were applied. I suspect that she had a reaction to the flea medication. My younger cat, Millie had no reaction at all. Luckily, I don’t have to use this medication often. The next time I do, it will not be in the form of drops even though drops ares one of the most affective methods to get rid of fleas.
