Remember, your pet’s temperament is unique and will determine how well he will get along with another pet in the house.  If you have a seven year old cat, only you know it’s likes and dislikes. These things need to be considered before bringing another cat or a new dog in the house.  When you adopt a new puppy, ask the breeder or rescue worker whether or not the puppy has been around cats.  Make sure that you research different dog breeds to determine which ones would be most suitable with a cat.

On the whole,  cats and dogs in most families do very well together.  Many are very close and love each other very much.  If you research breeds and match both cat and dog breeds to your family’s personality and lifestyle, you will help ensure many years of peace and happiness for your inter-species family!
