The thought of it disgusts us. Our best friends put their mouths everywhere and they smother us with kisses and we let them. Eating poop is a natural behavior for dogs. Remember that they’re carnivores.It was the role of the mother to protect her litter of pups, and that included ridding their scent from the area – you guessed it – by eating her puppies’ poop. There are other reasons. May he’s just plain hungry. Some dogs just love the smell and taste. I’m sure that if you also have a cat, you’ve seen your dog munching in the cat litter box. You feed him quality dog food, give him lots of dog treats and yet he chooses poop!
