You may compare dog bites incidents to auto accidents.  You need to exchange information with the other dogs owner and you might need medical help. The information should contain each dogs rabies status, and how to contact one another for follow up. This is not the time to assign blame for the dog bite. In the heat of the moment, you need to look after your dog’s well being and possibly get veterinary care. Expect an injured dog to be agitated and maybe hard to handle.  You veterinarian will clean the bite wound and administer pet medication to prevent infection. In some places, dog bites must be reported to the authorities. When the dust settles, get back to the others dog’s owner.
