She also says that if this is not the true underlying cause, there’s a good chance that there’s probably an underlying neurophysiological disfunction that’s causing the problem. If you see him licking or chasing his tail and you cannot stop him, ask your vet to examine him.  If no underlying injuries or allergies can be found, anti anxiety pet medication may be prescribed.
