Trimming your cats nails

You should try to get your cat used to having her nails trimmed while she is still a kitten. Gently stroke your cats paws as often as you can. This will get her used to having her paws held before trimming her claws.  Reward your cat with a treat after she has her claws trimmed. The best time to trim your claws is when she is relaxed or sleepy.  Have your cat resting comfortably on your lap. Hold a paw in one hand and press the paw pad gently to expose one claw. Just trim where the curve in the claw starts. Do not go too far down as this will cause pain and bleeding.  If your cat becomes impatient, take a break and start again later. Even if you just clip a paw or two a day, eventually you will complete the task. Be patient and take your time. You don’t want to give your cat a bad experience or she will never allow you to trim her claws.

Remember, your pets count!
