The Challenge of Changing Pet Food
Changing to a new pet food can be a challenge. Unlike us, your pet should not eat one kind of pet food for breakfast and a completely different food for dinner. If you decide to change from one pet food to another, you should do so slowly. Changing foods too fast, can affect you pets GI system. If you change slowly, this problem will be kept to a minimum. With sudden changes in their diet, pets are prone to stomach upset, gas, bloating, diarrhea, and other gastrointestinal problems. Increase the amount of a new food little by little, over a period of five to seven days. Slowly decrease the old food and you pet will be less likely to get an upset stomach. Remember, cat or dog treats, do not take the place of regular pet food.
Remember, pets are family!
