Tips on choosing the best pet carrier

First of all, his size, whether it is a dog or a cat, the carrier should have adequate “elbow room” for your pet. I would advise you to measure him first.  Also measure his height. A dog should be able to stand up and turn around comfortably in his carrier. Another point to consider is how will you be traveling with your pet. If you travel by car and have room in the back, then a sturdy larger carrier is your best bet. If you travel by plane, and want to buy your pet a “seat” next to you, then consider a smaller carrier that can easily fit under the seat. For this reason, you may want to consider a carrier made of strong, yet flexible material.  Does your pet like open spaces?  If so, buy a carrier that has lots of openings so your pet can see you and not feel so “boxed in.”  Whatever carrier you choose, make sure that it meets your pets needs. Keep in mind that it must be strong. I once bought a carrier for my cat. When I picked up her from the person who took care of her while I was on vacation, she tore through the carrier on the way home and almost caused me to have an accident on a very busy highway.
