Good News For Molly
As you know, my 17 1/2 year old cat Molly has renal failure and hyperthyroidism. I’ve been working very hard to keep these diseases in check. I give her medicine for her thyroid. I use a high potency omega oil that I get from a Vet in Canada and mix it with her food. I also mix a prescription diet with a high quality, moist, lower protein cat food (Weruva). Molly also gets some fresh turkey everyday.
Yesterday I had to take her for her checkup. Here are her results.
Her T4 – (Thyroid) reading is 2.1 which is in the normal range.
Her BUN (Kidney) – was slightly elevated at 51 but lower than her last visit.
Her CREA (Kidney) – is now 2.4 – high end of normal. Her last reading was 3.4 in the danger range.
I’m pleased with these readings. The steps that I’ve been taking to preserve the quality of her life are apparently paying off. Never give up on your pets!
