There are millions of Americans hitting the malls today. 62 percent of U.S. households have a pet and for most of these pets, life is quite good.Pets in the United States get to see Santa — along with dermatologists, physical therapists and even pet sitters. People and pets are living longer and the pet industry will make millions of dollars this holiday season. There are so many pet items to choose from for the holidays from the trendy, expensive scratching posts, dog coats and sweaters and dog carriers to the inexpensive chews and throw toys. I always make sure that both of my cats get their catnip toys every holiday. They even have a toy box. Even though I always put their toys back in the box, before you know it, I find them all over the house. This goes to show that our pets love their toys so make sure that you make it a happy holiday for them too!

P.S. I don’t envy all of those millions of people fighting traffic and crowds at the mall today. That’s why I moved to southern Delaware.
