A Easy Way To Give A Cat A Pill, If They Aren’t Too Sneaky
It can be very difficult to give a cat a pill. I have to give my cat Molly a pill twice a day. She has to take pet medication for hyperthyroidism. I buy a product called Greenie Pill Pockets. These are moist treats with a carved out hole in the middle where you sneak the pill. Molly loves these and sits in the kitchen all the time waiting for me to give her another one. She would eat these instead of cat food or cat treats if she had her way. Even though Greenies make nutritious cat treats, they are kind of expensive. About $9.00 for 45 pill pockets. It works great for giving medications but can break your pocket book if you are using them for treats. As all of you know, I spoil Molly so she does get some of those pill pockets as treats –—ouch—-It seems like I’m always buying more!
Molly recently has discovered a way to eat around the pill and leave it on the floor. I occasionally find a pink pill on the floor. Now I watch her until she finishes the pill pocket including the pill. Cats are smart but they are also sneaky!
