The French Bulldog

french bulldogI was at a farmers market yesterday and couldn’t take my eyes of the cutest French Bulldog. He was still a puppy and was attentive and playful. French Bulldogs are known for their wrinkly face and bat like ears. The French Bulldog is an excellent companion for individuals as well as family. They love chasing their dog toys but need little exercise and grooming. An occasional brushing will do. They do very well with children and are very loyal pets. They are somewhat stubborn and require a bit of patience during training. French Bulldogs are incredibly intelligent and always very eager to please.

Even though the French Bulldog is good at alerting their owners to danger, they’re main role is that of a lap warmer. They are easier to housebreak if they are crate trained. When traveling, the French Bulldog is safest in his crate. You should take your French Bulldog to training classes as soon as your veterinarian feels that he received all of his shots and has the proper immunity.  This will get him accustomed to being around other dogs and people. It  will also teach you how to communicate your wishes to him, and will teach him such basics as walking well on a lead, sitting, staying, and coming on command.
