I live in Sussex County, Delaware which is primary resorts and agricultural. We live in Rehoboth Beach and enjoy being in a resort area but as soon as we drive down any of the roads off of route 1, we’re in farm country. Our best friends are also very helpful to farmers in the region. The best dog by far for farmers is the Border Collie. The Border Collie isn’t content waking on his dog leash, or sleeping all day in his comfy dog bed. He lives to work. The Border Collie was developed in the border country between Scotland and England. Their main job is to herd sheep and they are great at it!  Border Collies are one of the smartest dogs. Don’t be surprised if they are able to outsmart you! Some Border Collies understand more than 1,000 words!  Don’t worry they still will chase their dog toys and play like other dogs but they remain a great asset to our farmers.
