Night time poses a risk for our pets. Here at the Delaware beaches, during the summer, there are many people on their bikes or mopeds at night. Police are giving bike lights to those riders that don’t have them so that they can see at night and others can see them. Most people on bikes or mopeds also wear reflective clothes.  This is necessary for protection because many roads are very dark. It is also necessary for our pets to be seen at night. In addition to making sure that your dog is tagged properly or is microchipped, he should be wearing a reflective dog collar. In the event he gets loose, at least he could be seen in the dark.

If your cat is an outdoor cat, it is also a good idea to get him/her a reflective cat collar so that cars could easily see him crossing in the dark.
