There was an incident that occurred today that confirms the fact that some people should not own pets. Some pet owners are irresponsible and endanger the lives of their pet. As I was entering a pet store located just off of busy River Road in Edgewater, NJ, I noticed a small white dog running around in the busy parking lot. The dog was not on a dog leash. I also noticed a woman on her cell phone. I entered the store and one of the staff members went outside and asked the woman on the cell phone if the dog running around the parking lot was hers. She answered “yes.” The staff member said that NJ has leash laws and she should not have her dog off of it’s leash especially in such a dangerous, busy area. The woman said to the concerned pet store employee, “Why don’t you just shush.”

This selfish woman was breaking the law and endangering the life of her precious pet. Sometimes people and their damn cell phones drive me nuts! Clearly, this woman should never own a pet. If you let your dog off it’s  dog leash, you are doing your pet a great dis-service. They rely on you for love and protection. If you can’t be responsible and are so self centered, then don’t own a pet!
