Great Story of a Puppy Rescue
Our pets can be often subjected to dangerous situations. I love to hear animal rescue stories that have a positive outcome. Here’s a story out of Phoenix ,Arizona about a one week old puppy getting stuck in a pipe for about ten hours. This story was produced by CBS news.
A puppy rescued from a sewer pipe in Phoenix on Thursday was reunited Friday with its mother and siblings at the Arizona Humane Society.
The Arizona Humane Society’s emergency animal medical technician team, along with Phoenix police and plumbers, spent about 11 hours rescuing the newborn puppy, according to Bretta Nelson, an Arizona Humane Society spokeswoman.
The puppy was found stuck in a 2-inch sewer pipe around 11:30 Thursday morning. Rescuers pulled the dog out around 10:30 p.m., officials say.
“It was the longest non-stop rescue in recent history,” Nelson said.
Nelson said the puppy’s reunion was emotional. The dog and its mother and siblings were now headed to a foster home for about seven or eight weeks while they await adoption.
