Is Your Cat Bullying Your Dog?
The truth about cats and dogs is that dogs aren’t always the bullies. Some cats actually do the bullying and torment their canine friends. Size doesn’t matter, it’s the attitude that makes the difference and some cats really have attitude! Some cats can take on large dogs like German Shepherds and send them fleeing for their lives. Some cats want to control every situation. They can even bully us by demanding meals. My cat Mollie requires her morning breakfast at 3:00 am every day. I am fast asleep and she will first jump up on my night stand and gently put her paw on my cheek. If I don’t immediately respond, she will methodically push everything off the night stand one by one until I get up and feed her. It really isn’t her fault as I’m the one who spoiled her when she was a kitten. Cats that bully do have a weak spot, they want attention. So engage them with games and toys like a fishing pole or some other activity that will stimulate them. This can help but there are no guarantees. If your cat continues to torment your dog, you may have no choice but to keep them separate. Make sure that you feed them at separate times as this can cause a nightmare! Be patient, your feline friend has lots of great qualities andshe loves you so much that she has to be the center of your world!
