Yesterday, I wrote about my 17 1/2 year old cat Molly who’s suffering from Thyroid and Kidney disease. She refused to take her pill that I put in a Greenie pouch. A Greenie is a moist treat that has a small pouch in it where you could hide the pill. I tried everything but she refused to take her medication. She had been taking her pill in the Greenie pouch all along. I finally decided to switch the flavor of the Greenie from chicken to salmon and then crushed the pill before placing it into the pouch. Voila! Molly is now taking her pill again. Cats are finicky and sometimes switching things up will do the trick. Don’t give up trying. That’s what I’m doing with Molly. I’d like to keep her around as long as possible.
