Adopting a puppy can both exciting and stressful. It’s difficult to make a decision as to what kind of dog to adopt. There’s also all of the preparation. Here are some basic steps that can make the process a bit easier.

1.Do your research. Decide on what dog breed that you want to adopt and research information about that breed.

2. Assess your home and make a wise choice as to the size dog that you choose. Also consider the dogs temperament especially if you have children.

3. When you do choose a puppy, ask about feeding, care and vaccinations.

4. Choose a good veterinarian.

5. Spend some time with your new puppy before you take him home. Let him get to know you and other family members.

6. Complete all adoption papers.  Make sure you have a dog crate, a leash  the right kind of food, and make sure you know when to feed your puppy,  and how to train him.

Don’t make a quick decision. By taking you time, doing your research and assessing your new pet’s needs, adopting a new puppy will be an exciting and wonderful experience!
