Do cats get jealous?

Wednesday, September 5, 2012

The answer to this is “yes.”  They are territorial by nature and think that you are theirs. Keep this in mind when you introduce another animal or another person to the household. Always remember that  whenever a pet’s privileges, interest, or even regular everyday life is modified or even impacted by some thing or somebody new, the cat is likely to get envious or even territorial. Always give your cat the amount of attention that they normally get. A little more attention won’t hurt either.

Some indicators that your cat has become jealous can be obvious.  Hissing, growling or even swatting at the newcomer are some specific examples. The more reserved  cat may stop eating or even hide and appear extra needy following you wherever you go. Be sensitive to your cats feelings and do what you cat to show her that she is still loved.

Remember, your pets count!
